Free 20 oz Dr. Pepper

Friday, November 21st, 2008
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N’ Roses’”Chinese Democracy” is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. “Chinese Democracy,” infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

“We never thought this day would come,” Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “But now that it’s here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.”

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper’s Web site. They’ll be honored until Feb. 28.

Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.

Where Does Time Go?

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

 Photobucket

Wow, I can’t believe it has been so long since I last posted. Time is definitely flying, but I’m not having any fun. It is taking more and more just to keep our heads above water. There are massive layoffs taking place around the country, gas has gone down yet food prices are still rising and I can’t see a silver lining on the horizon just yet even though gas prices are down, we still can’t afford to GO anywhere.

I am so glad I use coupons, though the sales have not been as great of late. Christmas is definitely going to be a scaled-down affair this year in our household. I do not plan to hit any of the Black Friday sales this year. I DO plan to do a bit of Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving Day as my husband and I ran across some really great deals last year doing this.

There is another $1.00/1 coupon for Green Giant Steamers in today’s coupon inserts and you can purchase these at Walmart for .29 with coupon. I haven’t had an opportunity yet to look at any of the other coupons/deals.

I have been busy canning chili, ground beef and stew this weekend. I also dehydrated 2 packages of hashbrowns and sealed them up for the days my husband likes to cook breakfast for me, which is quite often actually and I am so happy about that.

Here are a few free samples I found today:

Craft Fairs & Drawing

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

This contest is now over. Thanks to all who entered!!

I am counting down the days to my first craft fair with my friend, Michelle, who is just as excited as I am. I have been researching craft fairs in order to find tips and advice from those who have “been there, done that.” To anyone who has participated in craft fairs, all advice/tips are welcome!!

Yesterday, I worked with Michelle to create a website to promote her products. You can visit her site here. I am so impressed by her art as well as her imagination!! She has whimsical scrapbook pages and embellishments of which I have never seen sold in stores. She seems surprised that I describe her personality as being bold and colorful, but it suits her.

To kick-off my new venture, I am holding a drawing for two homemade, goat milk, 4 oz bars of soap, scented to the winners’ preference from my list of available scents, however my choice of color, unless the winner prefers a white bar of soap. To enter, just leave a comment on this post. The drawing will be held on October 11, 2008. The winner will be notified by email and posted on my blog. Unfortunately at this time I can only ship within the United States, but eventually I will expand to other areas, so this drawing is only open to people who live within the U.S. (sorry)
